The most delicious bright, juicy-fruited, vibrant style of rose; try it the Spanish way and pour it over ice as a long drink. Pasión de Bobal is the result of a careful selection of the best grapes from south-east Spain's indigenous Bobal variety located in Camporrobles within the D.O. Utiel-Requena region.
The 67 hectare Finca Fuenteseca estate lies in Utiel Requena, a high, rugged plateau, nearly 1,000 metres above sea level just inland from Valencia. The combination of hot, dry summers, cold nights and poor, limestone soil make the area relatively free of vine diseases and so ideal for organic farming. The entire estate is now dedicated to organic production and producing blends combining indigenous and international varieties.
Bobal ripens later than other varieties with young vines often used to make light fruity reds and rosé. Fruit yields are controlled in order to keep the natural ecosystem of the environment and organic practices are also employed, harsh chemicals avoided. Maceration of the grapes at very low temperature for 16 hours, in which the free run juice is obtained, which will be fermented later at controlled temperature.
A stand alone aperitif or perfect for salmon or chicken salad.
