Zero sugar and zero carb in an incredible Red produced by one of the best in the business in the South West of France.
This Pinot Noir comes from an estate based in the village Thésée, near Touraine in the Loire Valley, which is now run by the fourth generation of the Allion family. The vineyards for this wine extend over the well-exposed clay-limestone slopes on the right bank of the river Cher and were planted back in 1974.
During fermentation the must is pumped over and the cap of grape skins is punched down, which all helps to maximise the extraction of colour and flavour. And after fermentation the wine is allowed to mature in oak barrels for up to 10 months. This creates a delicate, pure Pinot Noir very much in the Burgundian style.
Bright cherry fruit with hints of cranberry and raspberry, and a touch of vanilla on the finish. It would go well with some pork chops or grilled salmon.
