Tasting Notes 

On the nose, TRACES Merlot greets you with an enticing blend of caramel and vanilla. These sweet aromas are beautifully intertwined with vibrant redcurrant and raspberry notes. On the palate, TRACES Merlot is medium-bodied with a silky, smooth texture. It bursts with fresh redcurrant and raspberry flavours, which are lively and juicy. This wine pair exceptionally well with roasted meats, smoked fish or pan Asian dishes.

The Winemaking Process

We are always asked what makes this wine sugar-free but still taste so good. There are a few factors. Firstly, the grapes are picked very early in the morning when the temperature is cooler which helps reduce the sugar volume found in them. Then, through fermentation, all residual sugar is removed. We age the wines on lees for 5 months to provide structure and complexity. Nothing artificial has been used throughout the whole process without any animal products either.

TRACES is made in the South of France, in vineyards between Bezier and Montpelier, in the Languedoc Roussillon area. The vineyards are High Environmental Value (HVE) certified, meaning they are managed in a sustainable process. Being a part of the HVE scheme allows us to identify and promote environmentally friendly practices during the winemaking process. These delicious grapes are harvested early in the morning to reduce the sugar volume found in them, and through fermentation, all residual sugar is removed.
