In the words of its creators, Sunny with a Chance of Flowers is a wine that has been created to make you feel good inside and out. It is an innovative lower calorie, low carb and lower ABV collection of wines launched by the Scheid Family Wines in 2020.

According to Heidi Scheid, Sunny wines “started as an idea to create a wine that was positive in its message and provided moderation”. Hailing from California and bringing plenty of positive vibes both in its wine and its packaging, we think these wines really do offer sunshine in a glass.

We are really impressed with how Sunny with a Chance of Flowers is ‘mindfully made’ - something that we know is important to many of our customers. Sunny is sustainably grown and produced in the family's vineyard in Monterey, California, which is a certified California Sustainable Vineyard and Winery (California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance). Some of the innovations they use to support sustainability are detailed below:

  • Natural pest control methods are used to keep the vineyards balanced
  • Drip irrigation is used throughout the vineyards to reduce water consumption. This is where water is placed directly into the root zone, minimising run-off, drift and evaporation, therefore minimising wasted water. On average, drip irrigation used 20 to 50 percent less water than normal sprinkler systems
  • The winery is 100% powered by renewable energy created by the onsite wind turbine. Whats more, this wind turbine also provides energy to 125 local homes - talk about added value!

In order to create a reduced alcohol wine, the Sunny team use an innovative and proprietary process that features a 2-stage filter. Alcohol is gradually and gently pulled from the wine, leaving behind a reduced alcohol product for you to enjoy.

What Varieties Does Sunny With a Chance of Flowers Come In?

No matter what your preferred taste, Sunny with a Chance of Flowers will have something for you, with one red variety and not one, but TWO white varieties! Let’s take a closer look at the varieties we currently have available at DrinkWell below:

Chardonnay

Sunny Chardonnay is the perfect blend of sunshine and good vibes. Each glass is brimming with delicious notes of golden apple, Bartlett pear and lively citrus fruit and finishes with a touch of vanilla. Try pairing with foods such as tuna or yellowtail sushi roll, crispy chicken fried rice, melty cheese quesadilla or a plate of vibrant primavera pasta to give your taste buds a real treat.

Pinot Noir

One for the red wine lovers, Sunny Pinot Noir is a riveting red wine full of juicy berry flavours and pure joy. Make the most of the last of the summer by enjoying it with rotisserie chicken, tomato basil pasta and grilled burger in an alfresco dining session. Sweet black cherry kicks off the palate, followed by luscious pomegranate and a hint of toasted oak

Sauvignon Blanc

We know how much our customers love Sauvignon Blanch, and this light, refreshing, joyful and cheery Sunny Sauvignon Blanc is certain to put a smile on your face. This wine bursts with ripe guava, crushed pineapple, ruby grapefruit and fresh cut summer grass. Try it paired with vibrant summer salads, goat cheese crostini, cauliflower crust Hawaiian pizza.

How many calories are in Sunny with a Chance of Flowers?

In one 125ml glass of Sunny with a Chance of Flowers, you will find just 76 calories. This is significantly less than standard wines - for example, you would usually expect to find around 100 calories in 125ml of dry white wine, or 105 calories in red wine. Each variety of Sunny with a Chance of Flowers comes with a 9% ABV and no added sugar.

Is Sunny with a Chance of Flowers suitable for my dietary requirements?
