Tasting Notes
This Barbera presents a deep ruby red colour, with a vibrant, almost jewel-like intensity. On the nose, this wine is intense with prominent aromas of violets and red cherries. The floral notes of violets add a delicate, perfumed quality, while the red cherry character provides a juicy, inviting freshness. The palate reveals a well-balanced wine with a fruit-forward character. The red cherries dominate, accompanied by flavors of ripe raspberries and a hint of plum. This fruity profile is fresh and lively, making the wine very easy to drink. We recommend drinking as an aperitif with cheese or salami board, all kind of starters or light first-course dishes, noodle or vegetable soups, salads, white meats.

Region
Le Tane is produced in the breathtaking landscape of the lower Alps facing the Monviso mountain near Asti, Piedmont. This region in the north-west of Italy lies between the Po and Tanaro rivers. This wine by Vinchio Vaglio has been produced from growers in both Vinchio and Vaglio Serra villages. The soils of Vinchio Serra are generally loess, which are rich in sand with a small amount of clay; the grey/brown colour signifies the presence of calcium. This produces wines with great freshness, and an easy, fruity style. In Vaglio Serra, on the other hand, the soils have a more substantial quantity of clay, with a red/brown colour producing wines with greater structure and longevity.
