Keto Wine UK — Zero Sugar, Low Carb, Full Strength | DrinkWell
You can drink wine on a keto diet — you just need to choose the right ones. DrinkWell has the largest curated range of keto-friendly wines in the UK, every bottle confirmed at 0g of sugar and 0g of carbohydrates per 125ml serving. These are dry, full-strength wines where the natural grape sugars have been almost entirely converted to alcohol during fermentation, leaving nothing to knock you out of ketosis. No sweeteners, no additives, no compromise on flavour.
Our keto wine range covers red, white, rosé, and sparkling — with full nutritional information on every product page. Free delivery on orders over £99.
Yes — with the right choices. The keto diet restricts carbohydrates to typically under 20–50g per day, and most dry wines contain 0–2g of carbohydrates per 125ml glass, making them compatible in moderation. The key is to avoid wines with residual sugar: sweet wines, dessert wines, off-dry whites, and most rosés from supermarkets contain significant sugar that can affect ketosis. Every wine in this collection contains 0g of sugar and 0g of net carbs per serving.
Dry wines are the best choice for keto. The driest styles are: Brut Nature sparkling wines, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, unoaked Chardonnay, dry Provence rosé, and most Old World reds (Rioja, Chianti, Bordeaux-style blends). Avoid off-dry Riesling, Gewurztraminer, sweet rosé, and any wine described as ‘medium’ or with a noticeably sweet finish. At DrinkWell, every wine in this collection has been checked and confirmed at 0g of sugar — you don't need to guess.
A dry wine with 0g of residual sugar typically contains 0–1.5g of carbohydrates per 125ml glass, almost entirely from traces of glycerol — a natural fermentation by-product. This is the lowest carbohydrate count achievable in a full-strength wine. By comparison, a supermarket rosé can contain 4–8g of carbs per glass, and a sweet white like an off-dry Riesling can contain 10g or more. Full carb and sugar data is listed on every product page in our range.
Alcohol itself doesn't contain carbohydrates and won't directly cause a spike in blood sugar — but your body does prioritise metabolising alcohol over fat, which can temporarily slow ketosis. This means that while keto wine contains no sugar or carbs, drinking it in quantity may pause fat-burning for a period. For most people following keto, moderate consumption of dry wine doesn't cause them to exit ketosis; the issue is primarily total carbohydrate intake from other sources.
Our keto wines start from around 69 calories per 125ml glass. The El Ninot de Paper Grenache Shiraz (76 kcal, 0g sugar, 11% ABV, £9.99) and TRACES Sauvignon Blanc (78 kcal, 0g sugar, 11% ABV, £9.99) are two of our most popular keto options. Full calorie information is listed on every product page.
The majority are. Traditional winemaking can use animal-derived fining agents, but we prioritise vegan-certified production across our range. All wines in our collection are naturally gluten-free. Vegan and gluten-free status is confirmed on every product page, or browse our vegan wine and gluten-free wine collections directly.
Yes. Our mixed wine cases are all built around zero-sugar, low-carb wines — our Clean Mixed Case and Lifestyle White Wine Case are particularly popular with keto drinkers. Each case offers the best per-bottle price in the range, with free delivery on all orders over £99.
There is no fixed rule, but UK health guidelines recommend no more than 14 units of alcohol per week with several alcohol-free days. For keto specifically, moderation is the key word — not because of sugar (these wines contain none), but because alcohol temporarily pauses fat metabolism. Most keto dieters who include wine do so in moderation without issue, prioritising the driest, lowest-calorie options available.
